PALM DESERTS AND GREEN VANDALS

The Stump has copped some flak about the Green Stump credentials over the past couple of years, primarily because the Stump would not jump in the great cess-pool of distorted facts that made up the “settled” science of Climate Change/Global Warming/Cooling. It has been fun watching as Public Opinion shifts with the sheer weight on bulldust hoisted on the long suffering taxpayers exposed as it always would be. The Stump cannot keep up with the sheer number of fraudulent claims uncovered everyday as more and more people awaken from their Jonestown like stupor.

The rabids that previously started frothing at the mouth at the merest suggestion that Climate Change was really just code for Global Scam and daring to question the rank gospel of green are vanishing faster than Bali Tiger. It is becoming almost impossible to find a loud mouth global climate wanker these days and backpedalling is to become a Olympic Medal Sport.

To the relief of the sane, the endless underfed minions of Gore have climbed back inside their mossy and rank soap boxes (organic soap of course) to ponder what could have been in a socialist green world with no people. While the "unassailable facts" from the book of Gore and the high church of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)are looking a very sickening colour of puke rather than green.

By the way, How is the 20m rise is sea levels going? It is now five years since the Gore Fanasty, name any lost islands yet?

As for the IPCC, The Stump did say two years ago it was just an exercise in money laundering and was branded the same as holocaust denier....Apologies not accepted.

"The chairman of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), has used bogus claims that Himalayan glaciers were melting to win grants worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Rajendra Pachauri’s Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), based in New Delhi, was awarded up to £310,000 by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the lion’s share of a £2.5m EU grant funded by European taxpayers…

The IPCC had warned that climate change was likely to melt most of the Himalayan glaciers by 2035 - an idea considered ludicrous by most glaciologists. Last week a humbled IPCC retracted that claim and corrected its report."

On the local front, Indonesian Government agencies famous the world over for their ability to spot a scam, came up with a stunner this week.

The Jakarta Globe reported:

The Indonesian Forestry Ministry is drafting a decree to include oil palm plantations in the forest sector to comply with international standards in mitigating climate change…“By definition, oil palm plantations will be defined as forest,…

Now a sane person would wonder why would you do that??..Perhaps because…

He(The Forestry Offical)said that "the UN only categorized trees with a certain height as forest trees, without identifying their species".

“It is to anticipate the implementation of the REDD scheme,”

This from a nation who had the nerve to accuse developed nations as pillaging the environment...WHAT A JOKE

But wait there's more from our forest friend!

"Reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD) allows forestry countries to receive financial benefits by stopping tree lopping.”

Well there it is…….WEEEEEEEEEE FREE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indonesia is telling the world those millions and millions of acres of environmental deserts called Palm Plantations that replaced some of the most ecological diverse forests in the history of planet are really “forests”.

Best of all those green driven idiots in the West will give them money under the REDD scheme to do so.

In one of the stupidest and most ignorant statements the Stump has read this year, The Indonesian Forest Ministery was reported as saying:

“The oil palm industry did not relate to deforestation.”

Say what!!!!! Have these morons never caught a plane over Sumatera or Kalimantan??? How do these people survive public opinion or more to the point where is the public opinion? Too busy chasing the next free pulsa perhaps.

More of this example of why Indonesia should not and cannot be taken seriously when it comes to the environment is here.

So have I got you right? The Indonesians are using greeny logic that you deny to justify planting oil palm.

I see you argue that planting oil palm is wrong in itself for other reasons.

So why include the Gorey stuff?? Does it make the case for stopping oil palm stronger?

scrumpy

Scrumpy,

Like Politics all environment is local..I don't deny the environment suffers at the hand of man. I do deny the lies and scams by the green movement chasing handouts and some green socialist vision of a brave new world where countries like China, Indonesia and the BRIC nations have the nerve to accuse others of environmental vandalism. I mean seriously going to Copenhagan and declaring that Jakarta was green city, its that most insane environmental statement of the year and yet nary a word of condemnation from the rabids and other attendees. You still expect anyone to donate or support these movements?

As for the REDD plan, you have got me right, I would even consider supporting it for the very reasons in the post...its an unaudited joke! Name one successful forest in Indonesia that can account for the millions upon millions of dollars in "forest" aid poured into this country.

You are right tho, they could have been to different posts..

Halo Mr. Oigals.

Just thought I'd drop in.

Seems like your beef is the politicization of science.

I put it to you that you're also using the gripe of politicizing science to beat your favorite pinata: the ALP and the Left.

Just putting it out there.

What does the science say about climate change ? A good question.

And deserves a good answer? Do you have one? Certainly the rallying crys of the rabids has been left high n dry.

"I put it to you that you're also using the gripe of politicizing science to beat your favorite pinata: the ALP and the Left. "

Lets see, KRUDD and the failed rocker in a all out incestous race to chase the ignorant green vote, has killed four people, burnt down 86 houses and electrified thousands more. Would seem much more than a beat down is required. Put it another way, if I ran a project that had killed four people in the last 12 months and burnt people out of their homes would I still have a job by blaming shoddy sub contractors...

Whats not to beat, this would easily be the most inept government since Whitlam and that takes doing

Extract from News.com.au today: AUSTRALIA is to spend $30 million to protect forests on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, to tackle climate change. The money will be used to provide incentives to local residents to preserve forests. Climate Change Minister Penny Wong said the project would protect trees on the mineral soils of the province of Jambi, .........yeh, has anyone ever been into these areas and seen how the locals have to live - I have. Pity about the locals though, they will never see any of this money, thats why they have to keep cutting down the trees for the (mostly illegal)logging companies - its called survival. Cheers, PaulRB_Doha.

Mr. Oigals,

Yes, electrification and housing problems not good.

But you really haven't said much at all about John Howard's support of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, which has helped kill hundreds of thousands (don't think any Aussies). The intelligence was bungled, clearly.

So once again, you're blind in the right eye, as the post-World War Two German progressives said of the former Nazi judges.
